Mobi-C Cervical Disc Replacement
Mobi-C was developed by LDR Spine and first implanted in France in 2004. The device gained its initial FDA premarket approval in 2013, with multiple supplemental approvals granted since then. Zimmer Biomet acquired LDR in 2016, and introduced the system in Japan in 2018.
Mobi-C is the first cervical disc prosthesis approved by FDA for reconstruction of a cervical disc at one and two levels. The cobalt chromium alloy and polyethylene mobile-bearing device is inserted in a single step through an anterior approach, without bone chiseling or other vertebral anchorage.
