WishBone Medical Launches AlloMate Bone Pin System

By Julie A. Vetalice and wire services

WishBone Medical launched the AlloMate Bone Pin system for the maintenance of alignment and fixation of bone fractures, osteotomies, arthrodesis or bone grafts. The allograft-based devices obviate the need for a second surgery to remove a metal implant.

The single-used, sterile-packed kits may also be used to fill a void left after bone screw removal. The complete system is available in five sizes, which will be launched in stages, beginning with the 3.0mm version.

Since the company’s formation in 2017, WishBone Medical’s strategic announcements include:

  • A license agreement with Hospital for Special Surgery to develop a Pediatric Total Hip for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis and congenital hip dysplasia;
  • Launch of Broken Screw Removal and K-Wire Systems and the Exact Osteotomy System;
  • A partnership with Implanet to distribute JAZZ spinal implants in the U.S. to treat pathologies requiring vertebral fusion.
