Wenzel Spine commenced limited launch of the VariLift®-LX System for minimally invasive lumbar fusion and announced its first implantation. Full launch is planned for spring 2016.
VariLift-LX can be implanted and expanded without disengaging the instrumentation that also allows for autograft insertion, and the system is available in two lengths and five heights.
Dr. Adam Lewis, the first surgeon to perform a case with VariLift-LX, noted that, “VariLift-LX provides spine surgeons the technology and technique to move more fusion cases to an outpatient setting. After placement of the device, the patient had excellent relief of the back and leg pain and was discharged later in the same day after surgery.”
