United Orthopedic Corporation launched UT’s, the United Tri-tapered Short Hip Stem, and an extension of the U-Motion II™ Acetabular System.
UTS, suitable for the direct anterior approach, is designed for insertion through small incisions with simple femoral preparation. Features include:
- Standard and high offset options
- Triple-taper design with Titanium Plasma coating for initial fixation and rotation stability
- Reduced lateral shoulder to conserve bone
The U-Motion II extension includes a 50mm acetabular cup and cup liner, compatible with 36mm BIOLOX® delta ceramic and CoCrMo metal femoral heads. The liner’s pole thickness is 5.3mm, greater than ISO 21315’s requirement of 5mm to reduce the risk of breakage. The 36mm head with the 50mm cup may yield a greater range of motion, increased jumping distance and a lowered risk of dislocation.
