TriMed launched new upper extremity products with its Wrist Fixation System 3, a comprehensive system used to treat distal radius fractures.
Featuring a more user-friendly and intuitive tray design, the collection includes volar plating, fragment-specific implants, a bridge plate and TriMed’s “Magic Screwdriver” tool, which allows surgeons to bring the radius out to length and correct coronal malalignment of the distal radius.
Wrist Fixation System 3 also incorporates design upgrades to its volar plates, which are now thinner and provide expanded coverage of the lunate facet. Additionally, the volar and dorsal hook plate guides have been enhanced with polyetheretherketone (PEEK) material to aid in plate placement during surgical procedures.
TriMed is also bringing to the U.S. market a Silicone Finger Implant, a flexible silicone elastomer implant used to help enhance function of disabled metacarpophalangeal or proximal interphalangeal joints (PIP) and to help reduce pain in PIP joints. Manufactured from high tear-resistant implant grade silicone, the Silicone Finger Implant can be used to help ease the pain of rheumatoid arthritis patients suffering from major joint damage and chronic pain.
