TheraCell is launching TheraFuze DBF® Fiber Anchors’, reportedly the world’s first demineralized fiber bone anchor. The device is designed to provide immediate improvement in pedicle screw fixation in primary and revision cases.
Testing has demonstrated that use of the fiber anchor more than doubles pullout force vs. screws without the fiber anchor, and testing in a revision model indicated that it restores or improves on the original pullout force without having to increase hole size or use any other materials. Anchors are initially sized to be used with 5.5, 6.5 and 7.5mm screws.
The company is also launching TheraFuze DBF Fiber Bullets’ for delivery through a cannula in minimally invasive surgery cases, the TheraFuze DBF Fiber Wrap™ for graft containment and a 3-level TheraFuze DBF Fiber Boat.
