The 2021 annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is now scheduled for Tuesday, August 31 to Saturday, September 4, 2021. Exhibit dates are Wednesday through Friday at the San Diego Convention Center.
According to an update sent by Joseph A. Bosco, III, MD, FAAOS, AAOS President, the decision to shift the dates from the usual early in the year position was made after significant evaluation and scenario planning focused on the health and safety of all meeting participants.
“To host a meeting of our scope and size during the spring of 2021 remains very unpredictable given the recurring surges of COVID-19 across the country. To minimize any risk to public health and safety, the AAOS Annual Meeting will now take place later in 2021 at the same San Diego location,” said Dr. Bosco.

In July, it was made known that the North American Spine Society 2020 Annual Meeting would be conducted as a virtual event, convening from October 6 through 9, 2020.
