Data from a 12-month study of single-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) patients treated with Trinity Evolution® + a PEEK interbody spacer and supplemental anterior fixation demonstrate the effectiveness of the bone graft, with fusion rates of 78.6% at 6 months and 93.5% at one year.
Further, neck function and neck/arm pain were found to significantly improve at 6 and 12 months, and no serious adverse events were attributed to Trinity Evolution.
Of note, 75% of study participants were current or former smokers, diabetic, overweight, obese or extremely obese, and considered to be at high risk for bone growth failure.
Trinity Evolution is the predecessor of Trinity ELITE® moldable bone graft. To date, >150,000 procedures have employed Trinity Evolution and Trinity ELITE. In its 1Q16 revenue call, leadership announced that an acquisition of rights to an MIS delivery system, slated for launch within 2016, is expected to expand market opportunities for Trinity Elite.
