Retrospective study results on patients undergoing sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion or fixation showed a 5.7% revision rate in fusion patients receiving SI-BONE’s iFuse™ vs. a 30.8% revision rate for those undergoing screw fixation.
Specifically, four-year cumulative revision rates showed a 5.7% revision rate for 263 patients receiving the triangular iFuse implant vs. a 30.8% revision rate for 36 patients who underwent SI joint screw fixation. At the longest follow-up, the cumulative probability of revision in the screw group was 79.8%. Subgroup analysis showed no predictors of revision other than device used (iFuse vs. screw).
The study, “Surgical Revision after Sacroiliac Joint Fixation or Fusion,” is published in the International Journal of Spine Surgery.
Earlier this month, SI-BONE implemented a warranty supporting its iFuse implant procedure.
