Spine Wave entered the posterior cervical fixation market, commencing limited market release of the Proficient® Posterior Cervical system, its sixth major new product introduction since 2015. Full launch is slated for early 4Q17.
Spine Wave’s proprietary universal tri-lobe screw provides up to 120 degrees of polyaxial angulation for the system, which can use either 3.5mm or 4.0mm titanium and cobalt-chromium rods. A 5.5mm thread diameter is available for cervicothoracic procedures.
The company expects to launch one additional cervical product by the end of 2017. At the end of 2Q17, the company entered the anterior lumbar interbody fusion market with its Leva® AF Interbody Device.
