Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield established positive coverage for minimally invasive surgical sacroiliac (MIS SI) joint fusion using SI-BONE’s iFuse Implant System for its 1.5 million members in South Dakota and Iowa.
Further, Health New England updated its MIS SI joint fusion policy to cover only iFuse procedures, when performed by a surgeon, for its approximately 200,000 members in Massachusetts.
Leadership noted salesforce expansion and growing payor coverage as contributors to the company’s revenue growth momentum in their 2Q19 earnings report. In 2Q, the company reported that iFuse had been used in more than 40,000 SI joint fusion procedures by more than 1,900 surgeons worldwide since its launch in 2009.
