
Osseus Fusion Systems acquired SIJ Surgical, developer of a sacroiliac (SI) fusion screw. The device will be marketed by Osseus Fusion as the Blue Topazâ„¢ CompresSIve Sacroiliac system.
SIJ Surgical’s SI screw features aggressive distal cutting flutes and dual lead threads to achieve bone purchase. A fenestrated, open implant architecture is intended to support osseointegration and allow for visibility in imaging. Integrated safety features are designed to control targeting and screw insertion, while streamlined instrumentation facilitates procedural efficiency.
Osseus Fusion intends to continue to introduce next-generation products. The company’s other technologies include the Aries interbody fusion device, Black Diamond pedicle screw, White Pearl preferred angle anterior cervical plate, Gemini-C hybrid cervical interbody (featuring porous titanium wafers with a radiolucent PEEK core), etc.
