Medacta International obtained approval under the CE Mark for a lateralized glenosphere component, expanding its range of reverse shoulder replacement options.
The device features a more lateralized centre of rotation vs. the standard glenosphere presently marketed with the Medacta Shoulder. The lateralization can support an improved range of motion, as well as a reduced risk of scapular notching.
Medacta’s modular shoulder system, pictured below, includes a range of sizes, adjustable offset and anatomic and reverse configurations. It is compatible with the company’s CT-based MyShoulder 3D preoperative planning solution, with patient-specific humeral and glenoid guides.
