LimaCorporate received two new ODEP ratings for the Physica ZUK unicondylar knee, awarded by the Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel in the U.K.
Lima’s new ratings are:
- 10A ODEP Rating – Physica ZUK with a Metal Back Tibial Baseplate component
- 7A ODEP Rating – Physica ZUK with an all-Polyethylene Tibial Baseplate component
Physica ZUK is one of the only uni knees to be awarded with a 10A benchmark. ODEP ratings are an independently verified assessment of implant performance as compared to best clinical practice guidelines. Uni knee ratings are awarded according to the strength of the evidence and quality of the data provided; main criteria are implant survivorship, number of patients and length of follow-up. The Zimmer Unicompartmental High Flex Knee was acquired from Zimmer Biomet in 2015, for sale in the European Economic Area and Switzerland, and renamed by LimaCorporate. ZUK and the Physica ZUK are identical prostheses, and the historical clinical data generated on ZUK also applies to Physica ZUK. The system employs patient-specific cutting guides and uses OrthAlign® hand-held surgical navigation technology to support alignment and positioning.
In 2H18, new Physica ZUK instruments will launch in Europe, Japan and Switzerland.
