Globus Medical introduced AERIAL™, its first minimally invasive expandable interspinous fixation system. With an expandable central core, the device provides continuous distraction for indirect decompression and a customized fit to the patient’s anatomy. Independent locking plates also adapt to varying patient anatomy by optimizing spine engagement into each spinous process separately.
AERIAL is indicated for use with allograft or autograft bone at a single level in the non-cervical spine and is intended for plate fixation/attachment to the spinous processes to achieve supplemental fusion in cases of degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, trauma or tumor.
