Forma Medical launched OptimalHT, reported to be the world’s first instrumented Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Hammertoe Arthrodesis procedure, which has treated more than 50 hammertoe deformities.
Forma claims that the system is less invasive than other hammertoe-specific products on the market, and also more cost-effective and scalable than other attempts at hammertoe-specific products.
“Receiving our first FDA [clearance] and launching the OptimalHT system represents a pivotal moment for Forma Medical,” said James Gault, Vice President of Forma Medical. “With this FDA [clearance], we now have a platform to launch life-changing systems across multiple anatomies.”
