4WEB Medical announced first surgeries with its Lateral Spine Truss. Studies have indicated that the truss design offered 61% greater subsidence resistance than an annular lateral ring-shaped device.with a hollow core.
This introduction comes one year after the system received FDA 510(k) clearance. Its 3D-printed bi-convex dome design is intended to distribute load across the surface area and maximize endplate contact; other truss systems in 4WEB’s line include versions for cervical, ALIF, posterior and osteotomy applications. The development pipeline includes designs to support knee, hip, trauma and patient-specific orthopaedic procedures.
