The Nextremity Solutions Lapidus Cut Guide is designed to provide anatomically intuitive resection of the first tarsometatarsal joint in preparation for a Lapidus procedure. It supports a variety of cutting angles to match the patient’s natural anatomy, and also provides limited joint resection to minimize shortening of the metatarsal.
The cutting slots are designed to reduce the amount of resection needed to prepare the joint area, allowing flexibility to remove 3-6mm of bone and cartilage. The guide provides surgeons with a single instrument for unconstrained angle correction based on patient anatomy.
The Lapidus Cut Guide is the first technology released by Nextremity Solutions that was entirely manufactured by its manufacturing arm, Lakeland Technology, acquired earlier this year.
