Exactech added the Vantage® Ankle Flat Cut Talus option to the Vantage Total Ankle Fixed Bearing System. Vantage Ankle Flat Cut Talus was designed to address the possibility of talar collapse where preservation of the talar dome is compromised, allowing the system to treat a wider number of patients.
This new option is available for use in the U.S., while its predecessor, the curved talus, is available in the U.S. and New Zealand.
Exactech entered the ankle reconstruction market in 2017 with launch of the first Vantage ankle design. The system incorporates a similar press-fit bone cage technology as employed in the company’s Equinoxe shoulder, to support initial and long-term fixation. Since its first use, the company has also launched the Vantage Total Ankle Mobile Bearing implant, a mobile, three-component system that has received CE Mark approval in Europe.
