Episurf Obtains Patents in China

By Julie A. Vetalice

The State Intellectual Property Office in China has issued notice of allowance for two patents related to surgical tools in Episurf Medical's technology platform. Chinese patents for the implant-specific drill bit and height adjustment drill guide are expected to be granted and issued in 2Q17.

These technologies support precise positioning of Episealer® implants, patient-specific resurfacing devices intended to treat localized cartilage and underlying bone defects in the condyle, trochlea, etc.

Episurf is pursuing intellectual property protection, regulatory clearance and reimbursement globally, having secured CE Mark approval across its portfolio, patents in Australia, the EU and U.S. and expanded reimbursement coverage in the EU.
