The Japanese patent office announced its intention to grant another patent to Episurf Medical, entitled “Surgical kit for cartilage repair comprising implant and a set of tools.” This IP relates to the company’s individualised Episealer® Femoral Twin joint implant and its design.
“Episealer twin technology is an appreciated solution for the commonly occurring elongated cartilage lesions, and we hereby strengthen the IP portfolio globally for that part of our technology platform,” said Katarina Flodström, COO, Episurf Medical.
Thus far in 2019, the company has received new patent approvals in Australia, Canada, Japan and the U.S., and reached the milestone of the 500th Episealer knee implant.
