TRUMATCH® Titanium 3D-Printed Implants
DePuy Synthes will commence U.S. launch of TRUMATCH® Titanium 3D-Printed Implants for facial reconstruction in mid-September. While we don’t typically cover the craniomaxillofacial market, this news is noteworthy as TRUMATCH CMF represents the first 3D-printed titanium maxillofacial implants to receive clearance to market in the U.S.
The implants, manufactured by Materialise, are created with the aid of computer-aided surgical planning and a CT scan of the patient’s skull. This craniomaxillofacial system has been marketed in Australia and the EU since 2016; DePuy Synthes will market the devices in the U.S. through an exclusive relationship with Materialise.
DePuy has employed TRUMATCH technology for over a decade as patient-specific surgical instrumentation to assist in knee replacement with SIGMA® and ATTUNE™ systems. The company has worked with Materialise on personalized craniofacial applications since 2010.
