Consensus Orthopedics launched TracPatch™, a wearable device offering real-time, continuous post-surgical remote patient monitoring.
Placed on the lower leg just below the knee, the device sends activity data to healthcare providers such as range of motion (ROM), ambulation, exercise compliance and wound site temperature measurements. The provider can track progress and adjust post-surgical activities and rehab goals, especially during the six-week period of post-acute care. A patient-focused mobile app sends exercise reminders and ROM tests.
Consensus will debut TracPatch at the 2017 AAOS/American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.
Of the variety of services and solutions offered by device companies to support healthcare delivery models and improve outcomes, TracPatch is reportedly the first-to-market system offering an orthopaedic post-surgical wearable device.
