Arthrosurface launched OsteoMATE™, an arthrodesis implant for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA). The first procedure, a Four Corner Fusion, was completed for a patient with OA of the hand.
OsteoMATE is provided pre-shaped, pre-drilled and sterile. The design is optimized for Four Corner Fusion of the hand and Lisfranc arthrodesis of the foot, and its allograft composition was chosen to mitigate non-union of the fusion area, which has an occurrence rate of up to 31% with traditional metal implants.
OsteoMATE joins Arthrosurface’s portfolio of implants, instruments and biologics to treat upper and lower extremity conditions caused by trauma, injury and arthritic disease.
