Statera Spine, a privately held software-enabled healthcare diagnostics company focused on spine imaging analytics, has formed as a subsidiary of Ortho Kinematics, developer of the Vertebral Motion Analysis (VMA) test for spinal instability based on motion analysis.
Statera will leverage Ortho Kinematics' operations and VMA technology to commercialize Profile-ESP™, analytics and reporting that are designed to make standard spine x-rays more clinically useful without reimbursement challenges and workflow disruption of the VMA test.
Profile-ESP (Expanded Spine Parameters) has been in beta release during 2018, and will head to U.S. launch in coming months. The system, which requires no capital investment, enables a full spine assessment by quantitatively assessing spine health, and can provide a fully stitched lateral image. Physicians can easily communicate functional issues to physical therapists and chiropractors to support the targeted therapy, and the results can be used to monitor changes to function and alignment over time, to assess therapeutic effectiveness as well as educate the patient.
