Globus Medical marked a milestone with successful implantation of >3,000 screws with ExcelsiusGPS® robotic guidance and navigation since its late-2017 launch.
In cadaveric study with a simulated surgical environment, investigators evaluated pedicle screw placement time, accuracy and radiation dose for ExcelsiusGPS® in open and MIS approaches vs. conventional techniques. Results demonstrated that ExcelsiusGPS significantly improved screw accuracy, allowed placement of larger screw diameters and lengths and reduced radiation exposure, as well as significantly reduced screw insertion time vs. conventional MIS.
