Initially, the service launched in 3Q16 to musculoskeletal healthcare service lines at select U.S. academic facilities.
Further, the company is previewing a concept device that will support personalization and intelligent instrument technology through robotics. ZBH acquired Medtech, provider of surgical systems including the ROSA™ Spine robotic-assistive device for minimally invasive surgery, in 3Q16. While ZBH already offered computer-assisted technologies for use with its hip and knee reconstruction systems, the company had not previously offered surgical robotics.
