Zimmer Biomet (ZBH) commenced limited U.S. launch of Signature Solutions™, a suite of clinical services and technologies to assist hospitals and medical practices with the transition to value-based healthcare models.
Initially, the service is launching to musculoskeletal healthcare service lines at select U.S. academic facilities. Broad release is slated for 2017.
Signature Solutions comprises clinical services, solutions and technologies derived from existing and planned partnerships and acquisitions. Core components will include:
- Interactive patient engagement tools
- Data mining and analysis to collect patient-reported outcomes data that can factor into reimbursement
- Consulting, digital health software solutions and patient-specific medical technologies and instruments
Signature Solutions’ dedicated website is www.zbsignaturesolutions.com.
Other industry players, like Stryker and DePuy Synthes, have announced partnerships and programs of their own. As noted by Dr. Bill Tribe, an OMTEC 2016 keynote speaker, the push from volume to value—specifically, the advent of bundled payments—is a prime example of the way that orthopaedic companies can impact the focus on reducing procedure costs to help their healthcare-provider partners.
