The Orthopaedic Implant Company (OIC) today announced the commercial U.S. launch of its Threaded Metacarpal Nail System.
The OIC Threaded Metacarpal Nail features a low insertion torque and minimally compressive design, ensuring optimal stability for various fracture patterns. The fully threaded design and tapered head diameter provide rigid fixation, facilitating early mobilization of patients.
Of the device Landon Whiteley, OIC R&D Engineer, said, “Its innovative design features, including the double lead threads, tapered-head and narrowed thread waist not only can help to decrease surgery time but also provide stability for a wide range of fracture patterns. This system is designed with the surgeon in mind, offering a streamlined approach to metacarpal fixation without compromising strength or stability.”
