Update, 3/21/24: This transaction is complete. This acquisition complements Stryker’s existing presence in France and across Europe as well as its global joint replacement portfolio, allowing Stryker to serve a wider range of patients by strengthening its implant product line.
In December 2023, Stryker executed a binding offer with Menix to acquire SERF, a France-based joint replacement company. The close was slated to occur within 1Q24.
With a legacy of over 50 years, SERF is recognized by healthcare professionals worldwide for its innovations in hip implants, including the invention of the original Dual Mobility Cup.
The MENIX Group formed in 2008 as a French holding company with brands in orthopedics, dental implants and craniomaxillofacial surgery. In 2009, SERF joined the MENIX Group. In 2014, SERF Extremity was created, a subsidiary distributing orthopedic implants for the foot.
In late 2021, SERF acquired the Madison knee from Implanet, complementing SERF’s unicompartmental Uni KROMA range.
