Spine Wave Launches Velocity L Expandable Interbody Device and Enhanced Lateral System

By Julie A. Vetalice

Spine Wave introduced the Velocity™ L Expandable Interbody Device and the XLR® II Lateral Access System.

Velocity L's low profile insertion height with controlled expansion in the disc space is designed to minimize the forceful impaction of large lateral implants into collapsed discs. A novel bone graft system allows the surgeon to place significant amounts of graft. The implant's PEEK load-bearing core is surrounded by a titanium shell with plasma sprayed titanium coating.

Velocity™ L is accompanied by next-generation the XLR® II Access System and the Abacus® Lateral Spacer.

This closely follows the company's launch of the True Position Pivoting Spacer, which Spine Wave licensed in 1Q16 from Atlas Spine. A 2Q financing is supporting these and future antipated launches.
