Spinal Kinetics Passes 50,000 Implants of M6 Artificial Disc

Spinal Kinetics surpassed 50,000 implantations of its M6© artificial cervical and lumbar discs. The systems launched internationally in 2006 and 2010, respectively.

The company is preparing to submit its FDA Premarket Approval application for the treatment of 1-level cervical degenerative disc disease within 2017; enrollment is complete in the Investigational Device Exemption study.

Earlier this month, Simplify Medical closed a Series B financing, gaining $21.0MM to support its own ongoing U.S. pivotal clinical trials of the Simplify cervical disc.
