Siemens Healthineers received FDA clearance to market Cios Spin, a mobile C-arm that provides interoperative 3D imaging for orthopaedic, trauma and spine surgery.
Cios Spin is designed to integrate seamlessly into a surgical routine. Features include NaviLink 3D that automatically transfers 3D datasets to a navigation system and Easy 3D step-by-step guidance and self-explanatory 3D visualizations. An optional Screw Scout package allows software to recognize and automatically label screws in a 3D x-ray image, and an antimicrobial coating contributes to infection control; this is reportedly the first mobile C-arm to offer such a coating.
Through a Spine Precision Partnership™ announced earlier this year, Cios Spin will be integrated with NuVasive’s Pulse™ surgical automation platform.
