Sectra has bolstered its pre-operative orthopedic procedure planning tool for trauma cases with the addition of 3D templates from DePuy Synthes.
Sectra’s planning solution converts standard CT scans into 3D, interactive images that can be segmented, manipulated, templated and 3D printed. Bone segmentation reveals the nature of the fracture, minimizing the risk of surprises and stress during surgery.
The company offers pre-operative 3D planning tools for spine and joint replacement procedures, as well.
Sectra’s pre-op planning solutions are provided as a PACS-independent web-accessible service, or as a completely integrated add-on to Sectra PACS. The PACS system is centrally designed, with all images sent to a single archive regardless of which scanner was used to scan the slides. Several hospitals in a region can share an archive, defraying costs and gaining access to each other’s experts. From the shared archive, physicians can access cases whenever and wherever desired, both from within the hospital and from other locations.
