Osso VR added five new modules to its virtual reality (VR) medical training library. The modules introduce hyper-realistic content across multiple subspecialty areas, providing trainees access to one of the largest orthopedic virtual reality training libraries with 30+ modules now available.
All modules in Osso Academy’s Premium Content Library are aligned to support the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Milestone and Case Minimum requirements, complementing existing training curricula. The virtual reality module library covers various core specialty areas, including foot and ankle, arthroplasty, hand, trauma, sports and spine.
The latest expansion debuts diagnostic knee arthroscopy and is the first module to include Illustrative View, a new assessment tool in the immersive operative suite and on the Osso Analytics web platform. The feature allows users to visualize their performance and better understand their anatomic understanding.
Alongside the arthroscopy module are four additional orthopedic procedures: supracondylar humerus fracture and carpal tunnel release, joining other new content like bi-malleolar ankle fracture and femoral neck fractures.
”Healthcare is facing considerable challenges, as we are seeing a shortage of healthcare professionals who must perform an ever-growing number of procedures that are also increasing in complexity,” said Justin Barad, MD, orthopedic surgeon and CEO/co-founder of Osso VR. “Osso’s mission is to democratize access to surgical training around the world. The launch of Osso Academy and subsequent expansion is an example of the investments we’re making to ensure that our upcoming generation of surgeons have access to immersive training and objective assessment, giving them the tools and confidence they need to deliver consistently optimal care for their patients.”
