OrthoPediatrics launched PediFrag™, a pre-contoured pediatric-specific clavicle plate for the treatment of mid-shaft fractures.
The curvature of this design was derived from studying 36 pediatric clavicle skeletons, available exclusively to OrthoPediatrics through the Hamann-Todd skeletal collection at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
Nick Deeter of WishBone Medical has estimated the orthopedic pediatric market at $1.4 billion. For pediatric trauma, specifically, Orthofix leadership has voiced an estimate of $600 million, split evenly between U.S. and ex-U.S. Companies of all sizes have entered this space, which Wishbone Medical expects to grow at a rate of 10% per year.
