Ortho Development Corporation (ODEV) has established Ortho Development Pty Ltd (ODEV Australia), a wholly owned sales and distribution arm of ODEV.
The company is in the process of obtaining regulatory approvals for its knee and hip products through the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration, which are expected by the end of 2019, with the first surgeries slated to occur within the year. The subsidiary is headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, and led by Mark Cane, a 20+ year veteran of the orthopedic industry in both South Africa and Australia, as General Manager.
“We’ve had our sights on Australia for several years now as an important long-term strategic target market for Ortho Development,” said ODEV’s President, Brent Bartholomew. “We plan to bring the nimble responsiveness, efficiency and value to Australia that has fueled our success in both the United States and Japan.”
