Merete introduced a new design for the PeriPlateâ„¢ for fusion of periprosthetic fractures, featuring a single-hole, duo-screw format.
The V-Duo Monoaxial/Polyaxial locking hole is intended to increase the stability of polyaxial screws in fractures that occur close to an implant after a hip replacement. The proximity of the screws supports optimal capture of bone chips, while the locking mechanism allows micromotion that helps the fragments fuse while vascular tissue stays intact.
Merete has been granted U.S. Patent No. 9,788,874 B2 for the device.
