Medicrea announced completion of the world’s first minimally invasive spine procedure using patient-specific implants, with the UNiD™ MIS Rod. The procedure occurred in Colorado.
The UNiD MIS Rod, which can be used in percutaneous or mini-open approaches, is reportedly the first spinal implant in the world to be made specially for the patient prior to the procedure.
UNiD MIS Rods are now a part of the company’s UNiD™ TEK line of FDA-cleared patient-specific implants. Other Medicrea products cleared in 2017 include the PASS® TULIP top-loading fixation system, featuring patient-specific hybrid constructs, and the UNiD™ HUB data-driven digital portal that uses Adaptive Spine Intelligence for surgical planning.
