Medacta announced the first surgery performed in the U.S. using the Medacta Unconstrained Screw Technology Sacro-Iliac Joint Screw System (M.U.S.T. SI) for sacroiliac joint fusion.
The minimally invasive M.U.S.T. procedure can be optimized for the outpatient surgical setting. The system’s screws are coated with porous and rough hydroxyapatite and feature hollow-body and multiple fenestrated patterned shafts to promote biological fixation. The system also offers “one-size-fits-all” washers that can accommodate extreme angulation and allow optimal compression.
Paired with Medacta’s MectaLIF interbody fusion devices and surgical instruments, M.U.S.T. SI is part of a single-system approach that can address most spine stabilization applications.
