Lima Corporate received two new ODEP ratings for the SMR Shoulder System, awarded by the Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel in the U.K.
Lima’s new ratings are:
SMR Reverse with Uncemented Fixation (Metal Glenosphere/Polyethylene Liner Combination), 10A (the only shoulder to receive a 10A benchmark)
SMR Reverse HP with Uncemented Fixation (Polyethylene Glenosphere/Metal Liner Combination), 5A
ODEP ratings provide a simple, independently-verified assessment of implant performance, assessed against clinical best practice guidelines. Shoulder ratings are provided at benchmarks of 3, 5, 7 and 10 years of follow-up; an A or B rating indicates strength of evidence and quality of the data provided. Many countries ex-U.K. use these ratings to support their approval of products.
In 2H18, Lima will launch the SMR TT Hybrid Glenoid in the U.S. This device is made from 3D-printed Trabecular Titanium, and is reported to be first convertible Hybrid Glenoid implant that allows conversion from anatomic to reverse implant design without removal of the central peg.
