Invibio Knee, a subsidiary of Invibio Biomaterial Solutions, partnered with Maxx Orthopedics to develop a PEEK-OPTIMA® femoral knee replacement. Plans are underway to conduct an international multi-center premarket clinical trial to evaluate the technology.
Invibio’s PEEK-OPTIMA biomaterials are designed to deliver modulus and flexural strength close to that of cortical bone, and radiolucency that allows artifact-free imaging.
Maxx Orthopedics’ Freedom Total Knee®, cleared for sale in China and the U.S., has completed over 25,000 successful implantations worldwide since launch in 2009. Freedom was designed to support deep knee bending and features an all-poly tibial component specifically designed for high flexion.
