LDR announced initial implantations of the ROI-C® Titanium-Coated Cervical Cage. Limited launch of the titanium-coated system was announced in LDR’s 1Q16 earnings call.
The system features a porous, plasma-sprayed titanium coating on the superior and inferior surfaces of its radiolucent PEEK-OPTIMA® cage and is available in four footprints, five heights and in either an anatomic dome or flat lordotic implant design.
Per LDR leadership, the ROI-C Cervical Cage accounts for a majority of the >100,000 implantations of VerteBRIDGE plating worldwide.
The company’s original ROI-C cage has been marketed in the U.S. since 2009 and was cleared for sale in China in 2011. Other milestones include FDA 510(k) clearance of the lordotic version in 2012 and a 2015 FDA clearance of an indication for use of allograft with the ROI-C Cervical Cage + supplemental fixation, expanding from its previous clearance for use with autogenous bone graft.
Cross-selling opportunities between LDR’s Mobi-C® cervical disc and the ROI-C system are consistently cited as growth drivers for quarterly revenue.
