Implanet Enters Distribution Agreement with KICO Knee

By Julie A. Vetalice

Implanet partnered with KICO Knee Innovation Company for distribution of the MADISON knee, initially in the U.S. and Australia.

The agreement begins as non-exclusive. KICO will gain exclusive rights to MADISON when it surpasses 1,000 implantations within a 12-month period, and will also gain an option for a manufacturing license.

Over 17,000 MADISON primary total knees have been implanted since 2010, primarily in France.

KICO is headquartered in Australia, with additional offices in Texas and New Zealand. Its management team previously founded Optimized Ortho, developer of patient specific planning and simulation solutions for knee surgery.
