Gramercy Extremity Orthopedics (GEO) successfully implanted its first GEO FirstFUSE MTPJ Fusion Plating System. This follows FDA 510(k) market clearance in early 2020.
Similar to other implants in the GEO portfolio, the plates and screws are individually sterile-packed, complemented by a single-use, disposable instrument kit.
GEO FirstFUSE includes an array of plate size options, dorsiflexion and abduction. All plates accept an assortment of cortical locking, as well as cortical and cancellous non-locking, screws.
“With MTP fusion being one of the highest volume elective cases in the foot & ankle call pattern, we are excited to leverage the GEO technology to deliver solutions for complex reconstruction in a safe, sterile manner,” said Scott Day, GEO’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Delivery is only one piece, however. FirstFUSE’s size, abduction, and dorsiflexion options make the plating system an attractive clinical solution for discerning surgeons.”
