Globus Medical expanded its trauma portfolio with the launch of the ANTHEM® Ankle Fracture System and the ANTHEM Proximal Humerus Fracture System.
The ANTHEM Ankle Fracture System’s low-profile plates are designed to minimize soft tissue irritation and are reportedly over 25% thinner than other plates on the market.
The ANTHEM Proximal Humerus Fracture System utilizes polyaxial screw technology to more accurately target dense calcar bone to enhance fixation, independent of plate position. The system includes small fragment instruments and retractors to streamline the procedure.
These systems are Globus Medical’s trauma division’s fourth and fifth comprehensive product launches in the last 10 months. In March, Globus announced 11 FDA-510(k)-cleared products, which address upper and lower extremities and hip and long bones. The ankle and humerus fracture systems were included on that list.
