Medacta and the Geisinger health system partnered to pilot a knee replacement lifetime guarantee. Mirroring the model initiated in 2018 for hip replacement, the knee program will cover full costs for screened Geisinger Health Plan members who undergo knee replacement while also ensuring reimbursement for any associated future care the patients may incur. The cost of the implant and associated hospital fees will be proportionally shared between Medacta and Geisinger while patients remain on the plan.
Products covered will include MyKnee® patient-matched cutting blocks and GMK® Efficiency Single-use Instruments.
