Fuse Medical Acquires Maxim Surgical

Fuse Medical acquired Palm Springs Partners, d/b/a Maxim Surgical, a manufacturer of spinal fusion devices.

Founded in 2011, Maxim designs and manufactures interbody spacers and distributes a variety of spine, sports medicine and biologics products. Its portfolio includes the Maxim Surgical X-Treme Interbody Fusion System, which received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2013. The company intends to develop additional spinal implants.

Fuse is a U.S. manufacturer and distributor of implants and orthobiologics for trauma, joint reconstruction and soft tissue repair, as well as spinal implants to treat trauma, degenerative disc disease and deformity. The company is partnered with FH Orthopedics, OrthoSolutions, Precision Spine, Spinal Elements, Vilex and Vivex Biomedical, among others, and has an agreement with Tyber Medical to develop and expand private label initiatives. In 1Q18, Fuse acquired CPM Medical, a U.S. distributor of joint reconstruction, sports medicine, trauma and biologics products, as well as spinal implants and instrumentation.
