Gramercy Extremity Orthopedics (GEO) announced launch and completion of the first surgery using GEO™ Bone Screw and GEO CART™ systems.
GEO CART™ is a mobile, computerized point-of-sale implant and instrumentation inventory system that employs RFID technology to create efficiencies, e.g., reduce surgical delays, decrease sterility risks and automatically generate an Implant Usage Form to simplify facility operations. It can hold >2,000 items.
The titanium GEO Bone Screw utilizes sterile, single-use instruments and is itself double-sterile-packaged. The self-drilling, self-tapping, reverse-cutting screw received FDA 510(k) clearance in early 1Q17.
