Pristine Surgical completed its first in human procedure using Summit, reportedly the world’s first 4K single-use surgical arthroscope. The system received FDA clearance earlier this year.
Pristine Surgical developed Summit to address challenges inherent to conventional surgical visualization, which are complex, expensive and prior to today, relied on reusable arthroscopes that are difficult and costly to maintain. Summit is delivered in single-use sterile packaging, is simple to set up, improves predictability and workflow, and its transparent pricing model reduces costs for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
Summit also includes a proprietary cloud-based software – Pristine Connect – allowing for seamless video capture, automated inventory management and a growing portfolio of value-added services.
“I’m proud of our team for reaching this important milestone,” said Bryan Lord, president and CEO of Pristine Surgical. “This first in human procedure marks the beginning of our commercial release, where we will begin the process of rolling out Summit to ASCs across the U.S., and eventually worldwide.”
